Chocolate Hard Shell

Hands down the easiest recipe in history. BUT, that doesn’t make it any less delicious. The next time you enjoy some ice cream at home, I highly recommend whipping up this quick, two ingredient hard shell!

Chocolate Hard Shell

Prep Time: 1 minute

Cook Time: 3 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons refined coconut oil

  • 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Set a small saucepan on low heat. Add oil and chocolate chips.

  2. Use a whisk to stir occasionally.

  3. Once chocolate chips have started to melt, turn off heat and stir until mixture is cohesive.

  4. Pour over ice cream. After a few seconds it will harden into a yummy chocolate shell!

Recipe Notes:

This "recipe" can so easily be customized. If you want a thinner shell, add a little more oil. If you want a thicker shell, add more chocolate chips.

Technically you can use refined or unrefined coconut oil. Just know that using the unrefined kind will give you a hint of coconut flavor - which may or may not be what you want with your ice cream.
