Granola

A healthy alternative to a box of cereal, this homemade granola will satisfy your craving for something sweet. Enjoy it with milk or sprinkle it over a bowl of yogurt and berries for an easy breakfast.

Easy Granola

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 35-40 minutes

Yield: 5 1/2 cups

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups old fashioned oats

  • 2 cups nuts, chopped

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil or butter

  • 1/2 cup +2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix together dry ingredients. Add oil and honey and stir until incorporated.

  3. Spread in even layer on parchment paper.

  4. Bake 35-40 minutes. At 15 minutes, stir the granola and then press down before putting back in the oven.

  5. Let cool 20 minutes before breaking.

Recipe Notes:

I like to store my granola in the fridge to help it stay crisp.

This granola is super easy to customize! Add cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice or even a dash of cocoa powder for extra flavor. You can also mix in shredded coconut, raisins, or chocolate chips to the granola after it has cooled.
